Most FiveM resources are sold through Tebex and protected with FiveM’s escrow system. Asphyxia uses neither.
This page explains both decisions and what they mean for you as a customer.
Why not Tebex
We sold through Tebex for over three years before starting Asphyxia.
The fees are high. Tebex takes a significant cut of every sale on top of the payment processor’s fees. That cost ends up either in the price or in reduced development time.
It limits support. Payouts, refunds, customer records and the checkout all sit behind another company’s dashboard and rules. When a customer had a problem, we frequently could not fix it directly.
Asphyxia checks out through Polar.sh instead. Your license is issued to your Discord account immediately after checkout, and we support you directly. See Purchase.
Why not FiveM escrow
Escrow does not reliably protect code. It is designed to stop people reading a resource, but working methods to unpack escrowed resources are openly available.
That matters more for an anti-cheat than for most resources: anyone who can read it can work out what it looks for and build around it. Escrow would offer the appearance of protection while handing cheat developers the file they most want.
Asphyxia is protected differently. The decisions that matter — whether a player is cheating, whether a license is valid, what an admin may do — are made on your server and our API rather than in code shipped to players.
Escrow also does not support FiveM Enhanced. An escrowed Asphyxia could not run on Enhanced servers at all, so it was never an option.
